We Tired Acres is a small Scottish Highland breeding farm located 10 mile south of Tomah Wisconsin by a little town called Wilton. And yes we are retired. We acquired our herd of 18 in February of 2003 and they started having calves in March of that year and we were in the Highland business. We needed a farm name for our place and people kept asking us how we liked retirement and we said we were just plain tired, hence the name “We Tired Acres”. Since that time we have raised and sold over 70 head of Highland cattle. Many of them went to new breeders. Our cattle were older when we purchased them and we felt like we bought a good foundation herd. We had a herd sire that came with the herd and since then we have always tried to buy the best breeding bulls for our cows.
Over the years we have had success in the show ring both regionally and nationally, but more importantly we have had success in producing cattle that have been very marketable as breeding animals and as beef producing animals. We enjoy talking to people about the Highland breed and welcome all to come and visit our farm.
