jared luhman
Introducing Jared Luhman, as our 2024 keynote speaker!
Jared farms on his family's farm in Goodhue, MN along with his wife Valerie and dad Jon. They raise registered Red Angus cattle and breed livestock that are bred to thrive in their environment without the use of expensive inputs. Jared and Valerie own and operate Grass Fed Cattle Company, a direct to consumer brand marketing grass fed beef, pastured pork and pastured poultry from their farm as well as other local farmers to customers in and around the Twin Cities. Their goals are to manage their farm in a way that improves the land under their stewardship, the profitability of their business, and the lifestyle that they enjoy. You can learn more about what they do on Jared's Herd Quitter Podcast where he talks to farmers and ranchers across the US who aren't afraid to do things differently and have found success in their businesses through this. |
stay for sunday educational session
SPECIAL ADDITION:
As a special addition to our annual meeting activities, a fitting clinic will be held on Sunday, February 4 at 9 AM. Join experienced fitters Spencer Reetz and Lauren Cowell as they demonstrate their unique styles, tips, & tricks for those interested in showing, or just curious about what goes into getting an animal from pasture to show ring ready. With a goal of member education, we’ll be showcasing three animals with three unique fitting styles: natural, moderate-fit, and full-fit. This will be a great opportunity to learn what you like, don’t like, and ask questions! This demonstration will be held just a quarter mile from Diamond Jo Casino (807 HWY 105, Northwood, IA 50459). While we will be in a heated shop, it is also February in Iowa so layers are encouraged. Snacks, sodas, water and coffee will be provided! |
