The North Central Highland Cattle Association is an organization of breeders of Scottish Highland cattle and other people interested in the breed. The Association is made up of members primarily from Wisconsin and Minnesota, though members from other parts of the country are welcome.
The NCHCA has bylaws that define the organization's structure and operations.

Each winter, the Association holds an annual meeting to conduct its official business.

Committees

Membership
Several committees are established to manage the various activities necessary for the smooth functioning of the Association:
- Hoofbeat: The Hoofbeat is the quarterly publication of the Association. The committee manages its publication.
- Membership: This committee works on maintaining and expanding the membership.
- Juniors: The junior committee plans and coordinates activities for the junior association, including cow camps, shows, excursions for the annual meeting, and othe junior activities.
- Show: The annual NCHCA show is planned and manned by this committee.
- Sale: Organizing and managing the logistics of the production sale is accomplished by this committee.
- Website: This committee works to keep the Association's website useful and relevant to the membership and others.
- Calendar: The production of an annual calendar featuring photos from member farms is managed by the calendar committee.
Throughout the year, the directors hold monthly meetings and each committee holds periodic meetings as needed to accomplish their missions.

Youth under 21 are welcome to be part of the Juniors program, including Cow Camp and junior shows. Junior activities are planned for the annual meeting as well.
