RANCH BACKGROUND
Rocky Flats Ranch is a registered Angus and Scottish Highland operation located in Boulder County, Colorado. The ranch was established over 20 years ago with a focus on producing better beef using superior genetics. To achieve this, Rocky Flats Ranch purchased new registered genetics to build a new baseline for their herd.

Family is the core of Rocky Flats Ranch, and all of the family members currently help out on the ranch part-time with the long-term goal of becoming full-time ranchers. Growing up in Colorado, they have deep ties to agriculture.

RANCH GOALS
One of the main goals of Rocky Flats Ranch is to utilize prime genetics in both the Angus and Scottish fold to market beef directly to consumers in the future. Additionally, the ranch aims to conserve the land, using both breeds of cattle to accomplish this. The registered Angus herd and the Scottish Highland fold are rotationally grazed to keep the grass healthier and reduce the risk of wildfire by decreasing small trees and brush.
